What is the easiest fitness certification to get?

What’s the minimum fitness certification I need?
In Australia, the minimum qualifications needed for a career in fitness is a Certificate III in Fitness. The minimum degree you will need may also depend on the specific field you are interested in, or the specific requirements of an organisation.
The Certificate III in Fitness will give you the knowledge and experienced needed for an entry-level role in the fitness industry.
The Certificate IV in Fitness will give you the specialist knowledge and experienced needed to become a personal trainer.

What will I learn in my PT course?
While each degree will vary in its content, all will give you vital knowledge and exciting new insight and skills to help you on your fitness journey.
In the Fast Track Certificate IV in Fitness, you will learn the knowledge and skills needed to:
- Instruct exercise to a variety of ages and demographics, including young people, adults, and elderly people
- Develop and maintain professional practice for fitness instruction
- Assess clients’ physical movement and provide exercise advice
- Plan and instruct group exercise sessions
- Encourage and support healthy eating for clients
- Establish legal and risk management requirements for new business projects
- Research and develop business plans
- Develop and instruct personalised fitness programs for adolescent clients
- Develop and instruct strength and conditioning programs
What career outcomes will my PT course lead to?
The Certificate III in Fitness will provide you with the knowledge and experience needed for an entry-level role in the fitness industry, including:
- Group exercise instructor
- Gym instructor
The Certificate IV in Fitness will give you the skills and knowledge needed for more specialised roles and personal training roles, including:
- A personal trainer as part of a gym, fitness facility, leisure centre, or franchised business
- Personal trainer in your own gym-based or outdoor fitness business
But to save time and gain career opportunities in a wider range of fields, the Fast Track Certificate IV in Fitness will give you the skills and knowledge needed to:
- Become a personal trainer, in both gyms and fitness facilities as well as one-on-one with clients
