STUDY AT YOUR PACE
7 DAY SUPPORT
A Good Night’s Rest
Dear Learners,
As your studies continue, we want to remind you that getting enough sleep is essential to your success. Sleep is a fundamental part of our wellbeing, especially when you’re balancing assessments and personal commitments.
Adults generally need about 8 hours of sleep each night. When we don’t get enough sleep, it can be harder to focus or retain new information.
Proper sleep helps with concentration, memory retention, and overall productivity. It can also enhance your creativity and problem-solving skills, as well as improve your mood.
Consider the following tips:
- Establish a routine by going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, even on weekends
- Keep your bedroom cool, quiet, and dark to create a comfortable, restful environment
- Limit your screentime and avoid using computers and phones for at least 30 minutes before sleep, as the blue light can interfere with your body’s natural sleep cycles
- Avoid caffeinated or sugary drinks such as tea, coffee, and soft drinks for at least three hours before sleeping
- Wind down with relaxing activities like reading a book or having a warm bath in the last hour before bed to prepare yourself for sleep
Exercising every day can also improve your sleep, especially in the morning as the light helps us to wake up.
Getting enough sleep will help you to stay motivated and energised throughout the day. It is important that you prioritise sleep and practise good sleep hygiene, setting yourself up for success both professionally and personally.
Happy Friday! We wish you restful nights and productive days ahead!
